Overview
The Ethio Wetlands and Natural Resources Association or EWNRA is a local NGO established in 2000 working on environment and development issues. The Dutch Embassy facilitated the Associations breakthrough with a matching fund grant that enabled the implementation of an EU Forestry project. The association also has strong linkages with the Netherlands through Wetlands International (based in Wageningen) and Horn of Africa Regional Environment Centre and Network (HoA-REC&N). Key activities: EWNRA pioneer wetland issues in the country through integration with community livelihoods, water and food security, watershed management (soil and water) and capacity building (trainings and policy). EWNRA use Dutch Embassy funding, through HoA-REC&N, to implement a Wild Coffee Conservation project. WASH activities are integrated into the community led program. Where EWNRA work: EWNRA operate in over 13 woredas in 3 regions: Oromia, Amhara and SNNPR.
