Overview
Organization for Social Services for AIDS (OSSA) is a pioneer indigenous not-for-profit organization in the Tigray region Ethiopia which was committed and has been working on HIV/AIDS prevention and control interventions in region since 1994. The core businesses of the organization were focusing on the prevention of the spread of the pandemic and alleviating its impacts through sustainable community participation, OSSA Tigray has a 20 years practical experience in working with the community, government offices, and international & bi-lateral organizations. This makes OSSA to be The 1st NGO that working on HIV/AIDS in the region. 1994; The 1st NGO to introduce Home based care, to train and deploy Home based care volunteers and creating a net work among health facilities and community volunteers. 1994; The 1st NGO to introduce well equipped and same day result delivery center of VCT in the region & The 1st NGO in introducing shelter based care and support. Also OSSA is known for its taking initiation and institutionalizing the regional HIV privation and control activities and still serving as counsel member of the RHAPC Taking responsibility to initiate, establish the regional association of PLWHA and facilitating the process.
